use loader v2.0.0c and when you hit next on the loader is when you turn the receiver on.
If it still doesn't work it's probably the cable. The loader was designed to work with a pc and real com port.

if the power board is gone is it easy to fit or is it better off buying a new box.

Are the lights on the ethernet port on the box lit?

If so, it probably means that the main board is getting power. The fact that the loader program recognises that the box is being switched on (even though it throws up an error), also indicates that it's getting power.

You could still take a look at the power supply board. Check that capacitors C11 (1000uF 10v) & C15 (470uF 10v) are not bulging. The tops should be perfectly flat.

Unplug from the mains first, before removing the cover.

If you confident enough with a soldering iron fix it yourself, will work out cheaper for you. Like Hadron has stated will be either 1 or both of the capacitors, just search on Ebay for them using the info he has provided. The panasonic capcitors are the best buy but a bit more expensive than the other ones there but I have found that the slightly cheaper ones work just as good.

Think I've fixed about 6 s11 boards now and equal amount of skybox F3 boards(they use same capcitors) as well and so far have had no returns. The openbox X3 uses totally different cap's.

Just make sure you don't lift the soldering track off the board when you remove the bad one.
