    No signal issue

Hi, two days ago my f5 box started playing up, sometimes it lost signal but most of the time it was fine.

It's now completely went to no signal. My box has been working for over a year without a problem.

I read somewhere about a fix off ebay, will that work? Or do I need a new LNB?

    Thanks

Before you go spending loads of money, have you got a m8 or neighbour who has a satellite system (sky,Freesat, linux or skybox doesn't matter). Ask if you could plug your box into his satellite feed cable and TV*, if you get a picture then it's a problem with either your satellite cable or LNB at your house, if you don't get a picture your box is knackered.

*you don't need an internet source as your only testing FTA channels.

I suppose the clue was in 'its been working for over a year without a problem' Well done P&D in spotting that one.

Something has Run Out/Expired and unfortunately a subject against forum rules, google might help.

It's not expired, the channels appear sometimes and then shut off.

Tomorrow they might even run for a couple of hours before the no signal thing comes back.

I think I need a diode rectifier, before buying one In just looking opinions

If the part we cannot talk about is dead then it would say Scrambled not no Signal

Question to O/P so i guess your saying sometimes its ok then.....nothing ??.....Whats the message on screen (No Signal) - (Scrambled) - (Invalid search)

It sounds like an internet connection problem to me

Do you have any other boxes connected to the same LNB?

The "no signal fix" will help if you do, but if not, then then it won't help.

Do you have any trees in line with your dish?

The message I get is no signal, nothing is blocking the dish. (Trees etc) Maybe it's high winds moving the dish, I'll get a look at it. Hopefully I can find out the problem!
