    Sky f5

Still having trouble with my sky f5 bought a rs232 cable but it doesn't fit the port on the box.
I can connect it throw another cable that I had for the old virgin boxes.
Got all the programme off her. But go into device settings and there is a yellow triangle on the port setting. Saying something about low storage.
    hope someone can help.

Are you using a pc that has a buitl-in RS232 serial port? If so, it will probably be a 9 pin male (plug), so you need a 9 pin female to female null modem cable.

If you are using a USB to serial adapter, then these normally also have a male connector. The cheap adapters don't appear to always work. Perhaps that's why you get the yellow triangle, although I can't see what it's got to do with low storage?

My old cable box (Samsung SMT-2100C) didn't have a serial port. What box did you have, & what did you use the cable for? It might be the one you need.

If you can't get hold of a pc with a built-in RS232 port, then an adapter which some members have had success with is one with a Prolific PL2303HXD rev D chipset, like this one:-

Prolific PL2303HXD USB to RS232 Serial Cable 9 Pin Male for Win 7 8 - Apple Mac | eBay

You will need to use it with your old female to female null modem cable.
