    new firmware 21/8/2014

    guys,
ive just been on to the yojiatech site and found the latest firmware. after firing it onto my pen stick it shows a bin file not .abs
can the box be upgraded via usb with a bin file. cant find any posts to help
in other words is the bin file the correct file to use for upgrading firmware via usb?
    thanks

Yeah mate I know, what I'm saying is can you upgrade with a bin file? All posts I see for upgrading and you tube vids show upgrade file as .abs
      thanks for replying

Looks like that file has been labeled wrong. It should say "Openbox Z5 software" as it's in the Openbox Z5 section, not the Openbox V5s section.

If you tried to update a V5s or F5s with it by USB, then it simply wouldn't be recognised.

It's in the v5s section of yojiatech for openbox. It's the latest firmware released yesterday. Is the bin file correct or should it always be .abs file

As Hadron has previously stated it's a mislabelled file. It should be in the Z5 section as that is what it obviously is. All firmwares for the V5S are .abs files.

That's weird then, because when I look at the downloads, I definately only see it in the Z5 section, not V5s section.

Here's the V5s section, with 2 files, the latest being the 20140410 file:-

Download / Software / Openbox V5S_Shenzhen Yojia Technology Co., Ltd.

                  Here's the Z5 section with four Z5 files & the mislabeled V5s firmware (20140818):-

Download / Software / Openbox Z5_Shenzhen Yojia Technology Co., Ltd.

Hadron my mistake mate! Apologies when apologies are due..... Obviously it was mislabelled, obviously that was the problem.
hope you don't mind me using the obvious buzz word. As stated in other posts looking for help I'm a dreambox user, so it's all new.
                    thanks are passed on Hadron!!
