Skybox f5 no longer works on satellite channels

So this man we brought it off said once every 8 months or so we will need to pay a certain price to get all our channels to work again. He said it would scramble our channels and he has to renew the subscription or something. I was wondering is there anyway i can do this myself?

Talk about trying to obtain free tv from a well know provider (is a no go area) & can cause problem for the forum
