Skybox F5s Help and Info

Alright guys, right I'm really new to how skybox works and would like some advice please. I have a F5s which I purchased the other week and I'm just getting used to it.
I am trying to setup the EPG but there are no settings for it anywhere in the menu screen, I've read the posts that say it is in the settings page where the time and date is set up, but the are no options for it in there are any where at all.

I think I may have bought a clone box, I have read the post explaing about the remote control, and mine doesn't have a sticker or a skybox text moulded into the control case.
Is there anywhere I can check and confirm this?

Firmware update

If the box is working as it should leave it well alone is my advice..........unless you know how to re-set the box using the RS323 lead

if its a clone then its a clone.........

If you mess with the firmware ......& flash with the wrong one ......then you open a new can of worms & brick the box

You will then be posting a lot of questions & reading a lot of posts to get it working again

Cheers for answers guys, right I'm not going to start flashing the box because I will break it , as for the youtube video and the EPG, that settings options for the EPG and XMLTV is not on my box, the menu I have looks to have a different layout aswell.

What software version do you have installed at the moment?

Menu > tools > Information.

When I tried to upgrade a clone F3 with genuine software by USB, I just got a "upgrade file is mismatch" error, so you should be OK if you try to upgrade your box to the latest firmware, but these boxes can be very temperamental. They can sometimes drop down dead if you just look at them in a funny way. LOL.

Sorry for slow response, right the software that is installed at the minute is:

I did try updating the box with firmware I got from the skybox site and I received that error as well.

Cheers for helping. Are there updates for clones? If so where would I download from.

Back your box up before you mess with it would be my advise before messing with it....see here.....then if you f*** it up you can always reset the box back as it is now

Nice one for all the advice, I will start having a mess in morning, not had time today to do out really. I will get back to you and let you know how it goes.

Right I've updated it. Looks as if it was a clone, oh well. Can someone please tell me what the difference is? Should I be worried? Looks like the firmware isnt as upto date as the official box, would the clone finally get this update?
Also the EPG settings are still not available in the menu settings so I still can't change to the xmltv option.

I can cofirm it is a clone, also I've noticed if you scan the qr-code on the side of the box, the url sends me to the clone website where I got the firmware.
