Actually, no! It's the 1000uF 10v one that's gone!
Maybe replacing that with a 1000uF 25v is a bit too much, or will it still be OK with a voltage that's so much more than the original?
EDIT: Sorry, you replied just as I was typing that. Cool ... I'll see if I can find a 1000uF 16v instead. I just know that I have a 1000uF 25v kicking around at home
25v tin will fit fine. The circuits on these are cheap and I have found the voltages can be fluctuate erratically. Quality cap will out last the rest of the circuit. Also the 470uf cap can cause issues so I replace both as standard practice.
I definitely have a 1000uF 25v at home, and I think it's a relatively decent brand ... might be Panasonic. It looked like it should fit (just) when I was looking at it yesterday.
I originally bought it as part of a full set to fix a blown Samsung monitor power board, but I only used one of the capacitors in the box to replace the blown one. The only thing I am not sure of is the temperature rating .. I'll have to check that when I get back from work.
Annnnnd ... it works!! Turned it on with a broom handle from 6 foot away, but I saw the magical "BOOT" message, so I think we're good!
I've already ordered the VU+ Solo SE anyway, but it's good to know that this is up and running again as a backup!
