Openbox remote turns DVD Player on

Hey everyone. Hope you are good.
After a 'LOT' of hassle, stress and extra expense finally got openbox up and running. Lots of footy and docu's. So, I bought a new dvd player day after getting openbox up and running. Now when I press the channel ^up button it switches the dvd player on and I then have to go and turn dvd player off as dvd player over-rides everything else.
Is there a way to fix this?? Has anyone heard of or encountered this problem or am I just unlucky?? I do do seem to be having a bad run of luck. There must be a gypsy curse on me or sumfin.

Thanx for all the help people. Appreciate your time :-)

    Cheers

Simple solution, take the plug off the DVD....
Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

Did you know People will question all the good things they hear about you but believe all the bad without a second thought.
