Weird glitch / signal HDMI problem ..... help please ...

OK I came home from work today and my son said the openbox was glitching and scrambled so he "turned on the Slybox and it fixed it" !! Hmmmm

I have Slybox on HDMI 1 and my Openbox V5S on HDMI2, so tonight I decided to play about with it. If I unplug the HDMI 1 cable from the TV ( Slybox ) whilst watching Openbox then the openbox says no signal. When I plug it back in the signal returns, even though I am watching HDMI 2.

This happens every single time, so it's as though the Slybox is acting as an amplifier for the Openbox.

The other odd thing is when it sometimes scrambles if you turn ON the Slybox the picture returns perfect on the Openbox.

I was hoping to get rid of my Slybox but at the moment it seems it is needed to drive the Openbox glitch free. I really can't understand what is going on as I thought the HDMI's worked uniquely.

I've even tried swapping HDMI 1 to 2 and vice versa and there's no change. I have one feed into each box from a dual LNB.

The only fact I know for sure is that with the Slybox on the Openbox picture is glitch free perfect.

if I remember rightly open/slyboxes don't work very well together the skybox is famous for draining all the lnb power so its difficult to run two boxes

try switching the LNB feed from one box to another and see if you get the same you may have a bad connection to LNB or a short across eg faulty LNB or just water ingress as the weather is now on the change.

Is it the openbox that says "no signal", or is it a message generated by the TV?

Can you still access the openbox menu's etc.? If so, does it say "no signal" on all channels, or just some?
