f5 skybox help

right total newbie here, bn looking at getting a skybox f5, after seeing a friends in action, my question is to get all pay channels uk, must I pay for a cline ccam server ? or is there a way to do it for free?
at the momement im using an android box with xbmc and multiple streaming apps, which is great, but the quality is not on par with my mates f5 for the live sport
