Openbox sound no picture

Hi folks, a friends openbox v8s has been working for 3 days then all of a sudden gone to a blue screen with sound but no picture.

bizzarely i brought the box to mine and it worked fine first time. Also, his sky works through both hdmi slots on his tv, and ive switched the hdmi cable but open box to the tv is just blue.

his tv is a technika if that helps

any ideas guys and gals?

Have you adjusted the setting on your box to his TV. ( ie 720 or 1080)

No, just did basic unplug repluf try somewhere else etc....

So try changing from 1080 to 720 may do trick?

Any other reccomendations folks? Cant be arsed going back if that isnt it

As sexysam says try some different video resolutions.

Connect his box to his TV using scart or composite RCA (phono) connectors. Hopefully you will then see a picture & can see what you are doing in the menus.

possible faulty hdmi cable ,i had one once its rare but possible

Scart worked!

is the option to change from 1080 to 720 on the openbox (and if so where) or the tv usually folks.

You can also find it in Menu > system setup > TV system > video resolution.
