No signal at all on F5 box but sky box works fine?

Hi, got a problem i,ve never come across before.Did have a search on here but couldnt find anything like this.

Bought a skybox F5 for a friend, set up the sub in my house, connected to my dish etc and all channels working fine. When i put it in his house theres no signal what so ever, not even free to air.Put the lead back in his ordinary sky box and it comes on straight away! I.ve tried his box in my house
again just to isolate whatever the problem could be and it works fine.My first thought is that its a problem with the dish or leads? But his ordinary skybox gets a signal so i guess that rules out the dish or leads?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

simple checks first (sorry if u have done these)
is the original slybox a dual feed or single......as if dual feed and u are using 2nd feed on f5s then it could be that cable or lnb as slybox would still work on other feed.....???? if its dual feed try both feeds in f5s or go into slybox feed settings make sure both feeds have full signal

then make sure u connect the feed to the input on f5s and not the loop.....( i know simple but easy mistake to make... i have before )

if all feeds good and feed in lnb input... try a blindscan at ur freinds house see if sat picked up

if still an no no let me know more to try

    hope this a start

      Thanks for the reply.

I.ve tried both feeds into the box {input}and still nothing.I,ve done a few of these for my mates but never come across this before .Cant be the box cause it worked in my house and cant be his dish or cables cause his ordinary skybox works?

Disconnect the slybox from the feed cable's both of them
connect 1 cable into the input on the F box see how you go

If you are getting no picture at all. Is the TV setting on your box the correct setting for your friends TV? ( 720/1080)?

            Good point sexysam.

rollzy...Is it the F5 box generating the "no signal" message or the TV?

Do you still see the F5 menus when you press the menu button? If not, try connecting to the TV using scart or composite phono leads. You can then try altering the video resolution to see if there's a setting that works with HDMI.

The f5 box is generating the no signal message. Not the tv.
I.ve done all whats been suggested above(thanks by the way) and still showing no signal. For a split second yesterday it showed a bit of tv but went immediately off and back to no signal.Again , the ordinary skybox works off these leads and got all the free to air etc.

Do you have a skybox/openbox yourself?

If so, have you tried that round your mate's house?

Yes.I took mine around yesterday to narrow down what the problem could be and both didnt work.

Sounds like the dish out a bit or could be the LNB
