Ordered a skybox/open box?Can someone tell me the basics??How to Update,Channel List

I ordered a skybox/openbox from a friend of a friend,unsure what make,model etc box is?(Please go easy on me as im a newbie )If all goes well i should have box for friday.

Ive been advised from time to time the channels can become scrambled?(Was advised i would get a email with a file of some kind to update box via usb)

Can someone advise the basics?Whats the difference between channel update and software update?Can i find updates myself through websites/links?If so which ones?I use a macbook would this cause problems when trying to update box?Or would it be easier to borrow a friends windows laptop?

At this point im unsure of make and model of box though shall update post ASAP.(Also apreciate i may be asking questions which may be difficult to answer as im unable to provide make/model of box)

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated..

its all done via usb stick, you can find channel lists on this forum. we cant discuss the other side as its against the rules but its just a case of copy and paste the details from the e-mail into the .cfg and then upload to box. you need to do plenty of reading in the openbox/slybox threads until your box arrives. regards mdt
