openbox V8s freezing

Hi

Can anyone say why my box keeps freezing. I'm not sure if I have the right firmware, its coming up as skybox.

any help would be great

Fred if your remote is grubbed, your box is freezing Id be handing it back!

thanks for that. its very strange it works ok but when its been on for a few mins the program is on and not freezing its still perfect, but then the remote want do anything, I have tried the remote through a camera and the led is flashing so not sure if its the remote or the box.
could it be the firmware.

Have you installed a new firmware? If you have did you backup your old firmware first, if you did return it to it's original firmware and see if that makes any difference.

If no backup then you could use an older firmware?

Like always, I didn't back the old one could you or some advise a old file and where to find it please.
I just saw the latest firmware and thought let update

Unfortunately I'm a v5s owner, the only place I can think of is;

SkyBox | SkyBox

i have a v8s and as far as i know there hasnt been a firmware update for them yet,what they come with is the latest and it shouldnt be showing skybox,if im wrong someone will correct me
im still using the firmware the box came with and all is great,dont try and fix whats already working

HI ALL

thanks for all your help. It was the firmware, but I had to install from the company's website. I must say they were unbelievable, helpful, they even offered to replace the receiver with a brand new one. That must be on par with Harrods.
Oh sorry but if its not working I try anything before I through in the towel, that's how you learn. (sometimes) LOL.
Trying to build C**ms now, looks like Chinese but I'll give it a bash. Thanks again Great Site.

i have a openbox V8S and when i bought mine i got a little slip of paper telling me to only update the firmware from the skybox.cc site & no where else

Can someone tell me whether this is a known problem or a fault with my openbox V8s. Whenever i am on a $ channel and scroll down the favourites list looking for other channel the picture freezes on the current channel.

Known fault, same happens on the f5s boxes. These boxes are cheap for a reason.
