hi just recieved open box v8s downloaded latest list but channels are still scrambled i am a newbie to this scene was wondering what im doing wrong do you have to update firmware to accomodate latest list or is there something i need to do in network not sure any help would be great

The channel list just gives the box all the freqs for available sat channels and arranges your favs it won't decrypt/unscramble channels.
Unfortunately its against forum rules to discuss 'descrambling channels' but perhaps you've just set up the box incorrectly, have a look at this excellent guide to see if you've missed anything.

thanks for the heads up ive checked the set up you suggested i think its slightly different for the v8s network is different or it may be im doing something wrongComment

v8s, v5s and f5s all thr same. v8s has different menu settings other then that its coolComment
