    Just a few questions

Hi everyone, new to the site and new to the whole open box/f5, so I have a few questions I have been looking at the skybox fs5 on eBay I was wounding if I could have the f5 and my $ly hd box wired up to my $ly dish to run on the same tv in the main room of the house together? So basically missus still wants $ly for record sieries link etc and I basically want f5 for sports ect Is it just the case of getting a splitter box? Would be so greatful for people's input
    thanks

    Hi mate

yes you can have them both on the same tv on 2 separate hd leads
unfortunately you won't be able to put a splitter on sat cable from dish it needs its own feed .so you will need 3 seperate cables from dish . 2 for sly box and 1 for f5 s box
    hope this helps

It is possible to record on the f5s if you have USB attached. But its not as user friendly as you would be use to.

Not everyone has "no signal" problems when using an F5s with an official $ly box. Try it & see. If you do have problems, there are fixes available on Ebay.

How many feeds are you currently using from your LNB?

Thanks for replying, Around 6 if I remember right it's got 8 what can be plugged in, I have a freesat point in every room, Could I use the $ly recording one for the f5? Or would it be better going for a new feed from the dish to box ?

You could use the "Dish2" cable from the $ly+ box for the F5s, but of course you wouldn't be able to record one channel while watching another on the $ly+ box.

For maximum flexibility, it would be best to add another feed.
