Skyf5 box just loading to l100

    Hi

I've had this box about 2 years. Sometimes it used to be temperamental and just load to l100 but I used to take all the wires out and try again. And it would work after the first couple attempts then I'd attach the rest of the connections.

I used it mainly to play movies via the USB. I've got myself a u m-8 box in November and it works fine. I've not even switched my f5 box on since November but it was working.

So today I switch my sky f5 on for the first in two months and it just goes to l100. I've tried all day to get it going to no avail. Anybody any suggestions.

like anything in life you get what you pay for... you have had your moneys worth already and maybe its time to invest in a better quality box and stick that in a spare room for freesat if you get it going again. best bet is to reflash it via the com port, you can find all the info you need in this section of the forum. DR-HD D15 or TM F3/5 will do what you want and is well built with regular channel updates aswell. regards mdt

Does it get stuck at 100, or does it continually reboot itself?

Have you tried a different power supply unit?

Does it boot correctly if you remove the LNB cable first?

If I haven't tried it in over an hour say, then it will load from 1-100 continuous for bout a dozen times then just stop at 100.

But if I take the power out and try it straight away again it will load to 100 and stop straight away.

I haven't downloading anything on it for over 6 months and was working 2 months ago when I last tried it,so don't know what happened.

yeah I've tried a different power lead.

it used to work if I took all wires out and left just the power lead connection on if it wasn't booting up. But that doesn't work now. Although it does keeping loading which always gives me hope for ages.

Actually set all the wires up as normal, and removed the LNB cable as suggested. And its loaded up, thank you so much.

            Great advice mate
