satellites missing

hi

im new to this forum and would appreciate any help i bought an openbox v8 combo at xmas it seemed to be working ok
but now turned it on and there is only one satellite in the list at eutelsat 28.2? have looked on forums but there does not
seem to be any lists or much info on this receiver the dbs lists are in .bin format and there are not many available i have not
been able to find any ?can any one help me to reinstall the satellite lists on this machine and the channel lists

if you only have a fixed dish at 28.2 the others would be of no benifit,sorry not into that box but someone will help you.

hI how many satellites did you think you had before,, In most receivers you can do a factory reset to restore all sats and channels to original state. How did the sats and channels get deleted in the first place--

when the box was firstbooted it had all satellites from east to west
but over the space of a week the satellite list kept losing channels
4 or five at each boot? the list must have become corrupt somehow?
i can do a factory reset but dont want to loose the cline settings
i have looked on line and i cant find the settings the system usees a .bin
file and not the most common .dbs etc
i dont what to lose the settings and brick the box ihave done a system dump
to usb but cant find a program that opens the files? i have tried with the recomendations
in windows but no luck power iso wont open the files at all!!!

i can get the arc from east to west but the box only will search
and retain the 28.2 satellite i can do factory reset but dont want
to lose the cline settings or brick the box it use binary code and not .dbs

Hi Ok so you have a motorized dish. Are you using USALS or 1.2 to move the dish. When you press the SAT button on remote does it give you a list of satellites. Are you sure the dish is actually moving. Do you get channels working on 28.2 if so this means that LNB and cables working ok. Also check in motor menu and see if satellites are listed in there. If satellites are listed then USALS should definitely move dish to those satellites unless you have problem with the motor or cables. I would try sending dish to say 5 west with the GOTO option in USALS and make sure dish does move. When dish stops do a blind scan and see if it picks up any channels.

thanks for advice i have done a system reset
and now have the missing channels i preformed a blind scan
and now have the arc back
to get the box working as before i was advised to ask if any one had a dump file for the
openbox v8 combo
