    Recording on an openbox v8s

Hi I recently bought an openbox v8s and would like some info on recording if possible please. I have been informed I can only record from the channel I'm viewing. My question is can I leave the box on sky sports one and record a show later in the day?
i.e its 12:00 o'clock and I want to record something at three o'clock.
As much info as possible please because I'm a newbie.
Also what is the best form of recording onto ??? USB OR HDD???

Yes, that's correct, v8s only has one tuner

Yes, the box will come on at that time and change channels if required.

Recording is done via the epg and its best to use the 7 day xmltv epg.
    1. Find channel and programme you want to record, select it and press ok.
    2. On the pop up screen change, change 'Timer service' from 'channel' to 'record' and select 'save'.
    3. That's the recording programmed into the box.

Viewing recorded programs is done via the media player
    1. Select 'menu-multimedia-media player'
    2. Scroll down to 'Record' and you should see your program on the right hand side.

In the 'menu-multimedia' there is 2 PVR setting for your storage, I've never had to use them, but if you want 'timeshift' that's were you go.

Either, both will work. If you want to keep your recordings then a large (500+ GB) HDD will be better, but if it's a watch EastEnders and delete then a USB (8 or 16GB) stick drive would be better.

You can also set the timer manually. Menu > system setup > timer setting.

As the clock is never very accurate on these boxes, I would set the timer manually myself & give myself around 10 minutes either side of the advertised start/stop times.
