    use of both boxes

hi folks. bit of advice please if anybody can help.

I have a sky hd box and an open box sitting with the same tv.
I want to use both of them at different times, but instead of having to keep changing the two
f plugs on back every time. could I split the input leads and connect both boxes to the same lead with a t connecter, I have two questions.

A : provided I switched the box of I wasn't using would that set up work ?

    B : could I do any damage ?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help..

if you want to run 2 boxes get more feeds splitting signals, yes you can fry things if something went wrong,1 cable per tuner is needed.

The problem with the $ly+ box is that it still has the LNB voltage on the LNB socket even when in standby (the openbox doesn't). You will need to put the $ly+ box into "deep standby" (hold power button on remote until power indicator on box shows red) to remove the voltage from the LNB connector. If you do this you can use a splitter on the "Dish input 2" lead from the LNB. But make sure only 1 box is on at a time.

Don't use a "T" splitter though, use a proper splitter like this one:-

btw...I notice that you say that you change the 2 leads. The openbox only needs 1 connection to the LNB input connector.

The best solution, if possible, is to add another lead to your LNB as cactikid suggests.
