Openbox and Box Office

Hi All
What a great forum and full of info
I'm new to all this and I've just received my openbox V8 and uploaded AJsat latest channel list 17/4
On my channel list i have 2 channels under Box Office catogory BBC RB HD and BBC RB1
Under the scottish catogory I have box nation hd x2 box office sport and box office 1-41
have I done something wrong or is that the norm (Box Nation HD doesn't work)
I'm making sure that I can view the boxing in may as Iv'e been told that I will be able to

If your talking about the Mayweather fight its only on the Box office channels and is not on Boxnation, There where recently 2 new Box office channels added Sky Sports Box Office and the HD version

do you know why my sky sports box office channel is under scottish in favourites along with 41 box office other channels , could i change them

That would be down to whomever created the channel list, But yes you could organize them to suit your own taste

I am using AJsat latest channel list but under "box office" i have 2 bbc channels and under "scottish" i have the box office channels everything else seems to be fine

Are you sure that you are using AJ's list?

AJ's list doesn't have a "scottish" Favourite & on my list (17/4/15) there are no BBC channels in the "Box Office" favs. Although AJ has mistakenly put Box Nation HD in the box office favourites.

btw...Box Nation HD only broadcasts live fights, normally at weekends. The rest of the time the channel is switched off.

Hi yes ive updated ajs channel list twice the latest bring 17/4 do I need to delete the old channel list before I put the new one on
I overwritten it last time when it was complete I checked the info button and it said channel list upgrade OK the box rebooted and that's the favorites list I have Scottish , I also have favorites 25 and favourites 42 (I can T remember the exact numbers as im away from the box)

Who's channel list did you install before AJ's latest list? It looks like it's not being overwritten for some reason.

I usually delete my old channel list first, although it shouldn't really matter, as the new one will overwrite the old one. You could try deleting the old list first, but if there is a problem with the new list not getting saved to your box, you might end up with no channel list at all.

Thanks for the reply I have most of them as well as others, should I just delete the tp prog file and replace with aj list or do I Need to do a channel scan

I would go to menu > edit channels > delete all. Then install AJ's latest list.

If you don't get the same headings as shown in my post above, then you might need to do "factory settings".


To get the headers to show correctly, you need to reset your box back to factory settings after you have installed the latest channel list (menu > tools > factory settings). A message will appear to say that it will erase the channels. Select Yes. A pop-up menu will appear with options to erase other files. DO NOT SELECT ANY OF THESE. Press the blue button on remote. Wait a few seconds for the data to be saved.

You should now have the favourites labeled correctly.

i still get the below favourites

all channels fine upto box office
box office has bbc rb hd and bbc rb1
scottish is my box office channels
fav group 24 is irish channels

if i do a factory reset will it put them in the correct order ?

Yep. You are getting the channels in the correct favourite number, it's just that the headings are wrong.

Or, as there are only a few favourites with the wrong headings, you could manually change them by going to Menu > Edit channel > favourites edit. Press yellow button (rename). Scroll to the favourite to rename. Press OK.

just updated the new AJ channel list 29/4 all channels seem to work fine but ive got my scottish and welsh favourites back as below since i update

is there a way i can get rid of these because everytime i update AJs channel list i get the above and the hd channels are under scottish

I think to permanently get rid of them, you need to do a "factory settings" as in post #10 above.

Afterwards, put the box into standby & then back on again. You will find that subtitles will be on, the volume will be set to 50%, & the time zone might be set to Taiwan.
