Difference between "scrambled" and "Invalid program, search again"

    Hello guys,
    Loooong time no see...

I just got a v8s for my father and was trying it out this weekend.
I noticed that sometimes channels are available, and the same channels can sometimes be "scrambled" or I get a "Invalid program, search again" message.

Now I know what "scrambled" means and why it gives that message, and I assume the "Invalid program" message is saying the channel settings are wrong... but as I said, sometimes these same channels ARE available.

I've also noticed that rebooting the box can SEEM to make the Invalid Programs become valid again.

Anyone know if this is a known fault/problem with the v8s ? Or does it involve things that are not to be mentioned here?

    Cheers
    Fred.

      Hi
tx for the reply, but the box seems fine in every other way, does not crash or freeze...

In your opinion, what would make one box "better" than another? I'm not talking about features, since it has all the features I want, and responds quickly enough, so what do other boxes have that make them better?

Also, what budget boxes would you recommend? I could still return this x8s!

      Thanks!
      Fred

I had the same sort of issue, loading a new channel table and then rebooting the box resolved invalid problem, search again

But what I was saying is that these invalid programs sometimes become valid after a reboot... so it is not the channel table in my case.
