Had my Openbox for about a month now, so upgrade options?

    Hi everyone

I bought the Openbox as a "dip the toe in the water" exercise to see if I could live with ditching $ky or VirginOnTheRidiculous. I've found myself getting drawn into the world of the satellite tinkerer, and am really enjoying it, so now would like to replace the TIVO box in the lounge, which will be sent back to VM when my contract expires in July.

So, the million dollar question. What do I get to replace it? I've looked at a load of machines, read reviews, watched youtube clips, etc, and I still feel a bit unsure. They all look so... similar! The best recommendations surely have to come from people who own these machines, who live with them on a daily basis, who know their pluses and minuses inside out, yes?

So, over to you guys - the basic requirement is that I should be able to watch one channel and record (at least) one other, and be an Enigma2 engine (I want to run VIX, I think). Budget is probably around ?300 at the top end.

My shortlist includes VU+ Solo2, Gigablue HD Quad, Xtrend ET8000 (in 3 tuner spec), or can you suggest I look at something else?

Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give me.

If you want Satellite and Cable then scratch the V Solo2 it will work with cable but you need an external USB tuner (Not pretty).

Stick with some of your choices above most if not all with Plug & Play Tuner slots

    Gigablue Quad Plus
    Xtrend ET8000,8500,10000
    Vu Duo2
    Miraclebox Premium

There are plenty to choose from, Most if not all the High end spec ones use the same broadcom chipset so what works on one will work on another etc..
