V8s wont connect

openbox v8s with official usb wifi dongle, setup like a dream and was working fine until yesterday when wifi suddenly wouldn't connect. it sees router with over 80% signal strength but just says connecting then times out.

things ive tried

turned off encryption on router
moved openbox to within 1ft of router
reflashed box with different firmwares
tried different passphrases in router

im sure someone will just say get the plugin tp link things instead of wifi but this worked and now it wont, determined to make it work but its starting to do my head in now

any other suggestions ?

Wifi is such a pain in the arse with these boxes and just not worth the hassle, I gave up in the end.

Backup your channel list and sub then do a factory reset, reinstall channel list, it should keep sub info but if it does reinstall that as well, try to connect via wifi.

If still not working see if you can connect via wired cable to see if there's a problem with the box/dongle.

ive just connected wired lan , all connects no problems. I agree wifi is a pain, if it had never worked then so be it but it worked and worked well that's whats so annoying. I hate things when they stop working and I cant find or fix them.

update :- gave in and bought homeplugs from argos , ?24. plugged in , no setup and hey presto, it works. Chucked the usb dongle thing in the bin and finally able to sit back and enjoy the rest of my sunday.
