Well according to RTR1879 you can flash the new v8 firmware on to your v8s without problems to fix the xmltv epg fault, see this thread;

I've got a v5s so can't confirm whether this works or not.

The new firmware was released a month ago on 19 May. Working fine on my V6 box.

The new F5s firmware has reintroduced the "summer time" bug though, so the programme info is 1 hour out from the time.

Yep. Other members have updated their V8s boxes.

I have tried updating my v8s box with the 19th may firmware and it has not fixed my epg guide.i am still having to use the now and next through sat.
