    Editing Channels correctly clarification request

    Hi there,

I have Skybox F5s with the latest firmware.

I had an issue with a channel S** Sports 1. I was using the latest channel list 16-07-15 list and the channel still wasn't working for me.

I found out that the channel had moved over to 12110 H but i couldn't find this freq in the TP List.

However i could only find the 12109 freq in which S** Sports 1 was using. So i pressed the blue button to do the scan, apply the changes, reboot the box. It still didn't work.

So what i had to do is edit the actual channel value on the Skybox i.e set the SID to the correct value i.e 4214. Then it started to work.

    1. Is this the correct procedure to follow?
    2. did i not rescan the freq properly in the first place?
    3. why it has started to work all of a sudden because the freq still points to 12109 H not the new 12110 H freq?
    4. If a channel moves to a different freq i.e from 12109 to 12110H, what is the correct way of correcting this?

I appreciate if someone can assist me please?

It's not unusual for the frequency to be out by +/- 1 MHz. This is due to tolerances in the box & LNB. Sites such as KOS ( http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php ) will show the real frequency of 12110, while the box will show the frequency that it thinks it's on (12109). There is no difference.

I'm using AJ's latest list (16/7/15) & SS1 is working OK for me with a SID of 4221, so I'm not sure why yours didn't work.

      Hadron,
Thanks for the input, I did some more research and I found out that according to my supplier only certain freq and SID are supported by the supplier.

Your supplier is talking through his ar5e.

When you cannot find a frequency, while still in the frequency list press the green/add button and enter the frequency manually then scan.
