    Skybox F3 Ive messed up

I've upgraded firmware on my skybox, but I clicked on the (keep DBS settings, I selected no) and this is were my problems started.

So I thought id try a factory reset , and made things even worse, so problems are

there are no channels at all, even the latest channel list will not work, I presume because all data has been wiped, I can get channels if I do a satellite search, but it only searches on turks ? and they are in no order at all and as said channel listings will not sort them into favs.

Do I need some sort of UK satellite search and then apply , ajlist ?

or maybe some sort of thing that are put onto the boxes by the vendor to work in the uk.

advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Try deleting all channels(via menu on remote) then installing either aj's or cwaite's channel list. Reboot the Sat box and see what happens.

OK a factory reset will delete your channel list info stored on your box, you need to download aj's list from the red stickies, unzip three file and install it, reboot the box and see if free to air channel work ie BBC 1, ITV and channel 4

Follow the setup guide here on how to reinstall all necessary files for a new box
Little guide i made :) Hopefully be of some use :) Download: http://sdrv.ms/VnHIcS

Never do factory reset, you can only get box working again by installing new software.

            That's just not true.

In fact, doing a "factory settings" is the recommended way to get your favourite headings set up properly when changing channel list provider, or if your favourite headings show Fav1, Fav2 etc. As long as you don't select any other options in the pop-up box, then you should be OK.

bingo110...do what martin035 suggests. When you install AJ's or CWAITE's channel list, it selects SKY UK 28A from the sat list, so you shouldn't have any more trouble with it searching for Turksat. You should at least receive the FTA channels.

Great thanks for the advice, all up and running now just one problem is that now all the fav are grouped in the right order, they are all listed as fav 1, fav2, etc. not movies, sports etc

From Hadron's post that you quoted:
