open up a skybox f5

how do i open up a skybox f5 as i dont see screws to open it
im looking to replace the power board in it as its dead
so would like to know how to open it up

this was posted elsewhere

from memory their are some clips on it and the front slides out.
The clips are all around the top cover. There are 5 along the back,
2 along the front, & 3 each side. I managed to break all 6 of the side ones
trying to get the top off my F5! so just go carefully then you wont break the clips
My F5 circuit board was held in place by 2 clips (and possibly some screws).
The front of the board has to be tilted up & eased out. It doesn't slide out of the front.
There's no point in taking the box apart (& possibly breaking the clips)
if you don't know what to look for, or how to mend it.

that was the only info on opening the box top
there was no pictures. i would think it must be
the case lifts up, is there a sign of a joint?
if so try opening carefully you might need something
like a Stanley knife blade to lift the joint and i guess
the clips must be plastic.

Only box I could not get power board working again, if I were you settle for a new one on ebay v6 35 qued worth looking into they brilliant boxes.

The F5 has external power packs.

As psats says, the F5 doesn't have an internal power supply board. It uses an external 12v 2A mains adapter.

if the box is ok apart from the power supply, i would try this method
if they have a external psu and they have the round bayonet fitting
that goes into the box power point, you could try a unit from a router
that has the same fittings i use one a vu zero that is far better than
the cheap unit that came with the vu

where can i get new mains adapter , will this 100% work if i got one of them

just tried original plug on external hard drive that i have and it powered the hard drive up so tried again on the skybox nothing
i cant be the plug what else could it be,

Do either of the lights on the ethernet port light up when you connect it to your router?

If so (like your S9) it might need to be flashed by RS232.

Yes they did light up
I'm getting errors on programme 'set stb memory error ' and ' initialize stb sdram is failed'
What can I do now
