              I don't blame you, would advise you follow this thread on recovering your knackered boxes;

              A how to guide on how to fix a corrupt firmware image in OpenBox S9/S10/S11/S12 and Skybox S10 F3 F4 F5 F5S A3 etc. Even if it seems bricked. Box does not respond or displays On or rebooting constantly ? If your box does not respond, or no displays light there is a good chance the current firmware on the box is somehow

              Also would redownload cwaites channel list, as it sounds like some how your PC has corrupted the file, as others haven't posted about a fault with the channel list.

                        If you get a prolific USB to Serial adapter the drivers are downloadable. I think you may find them in the download section.

                        Window 8 & 10 should auto load the drivers.

                          I would also recommend an adapter with a prolific PL2303HXD chipset as a lot of the cheaper ones don't always work. I used this one:-

                          http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3015087678...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

                          On my Win7 pc it downloaded the drivers automatically within a couple of minutes.

                            Snap, I have the same.

                            Another thing with these is make sure to use the screws on the Null Modem Cable to attach to the adapter, without them tends to get bad connection hence failure to connect.
