    NEW USER OPENBOX Help please

    Hi All
    Trying to help my brother in law out with an OPENBOX V8S STB he purchased to view more than FREEVIEW channels
    He purchased an *****which directs him to open****** menu item in network settings menu

    This setup item does not exist so I suspect the STB will need to re-imaged using the USB port and a suitable image file

    Can anyone please tell me
    Where I can source a suitable image file I can download
    Where I can find Instructions how what to do with the file

    I have updated my Technomatic and Dreambox STB in the past so I have rough Idea of what will be involved.

    Can any users of this box explain why I have a valid network connection by Ethernet cable tested working by my laptop and Humax STB but are unable to use any of the WEB connect sites on this box even after I have confirmed it is configured OK by DHCP to my router in the OPENBOX networks settings

      If you don't see all the options on Network Local settings, then press menu button, scroll to Network Local Settings. Press 6666. Another menu option should then be available in the list.

      I have found that the best way to test if your internet connection is working OK, is to run the Weather app. Put in a town name (e.g. LONDON) & you should get a weather report. Also loading up the XMLTV EPG will confirm your internet connection.
