upgraded from F5s to zegemma Star H2 S2

have i bought the right box?, all i want is the same as my old f5s which was great, sky 85.2 and hey presto.

thing what attracted me to the zegemma was its dual tuner pause recored etc, and the availability to get the sky skin. but there seams a hell of a lot more to it from what I've read? obviously like to use this box to its full potential so if anyones set these up id be much appreciated for some tips or where to start even.

Read every guide you can in the Enigma2 section and pretty much anything to do with the dreambox section too. As these receivers are Linux Enigma2 based any guide relating to DM800,VU+,Gigablue etc.. applies to that receiver as well

Bit confused the h2 is a cable box and the 2s is a satellite box

If it's the Zgemma 2s twin tuner sat box, then follow these instructions to set up from scratch, thread has both openvix and openatv guides and also a brief debate on the pros/cons from forum members on these firmwares.

Sounds like you have the H2 version which is a 1x satellite tuner and 1x cable tuner, best way to confirm this is if the back looks like this;

This will still work with a satellite feed but you will lose the ability to record one channel and watch another, unless of course you plan to hook it up to a cable feed as well.

The instructions I posted above will work for the H2 but were developed for satellite, if your not using the cable side then just 'not configure' tuner B in the 'initial setup' and all should be good, also remember you will also need the H2 image from the zgemma website.

However, the Backup image with $ky skin I linked to hasn't been tested on a H2 and should only be used at your own risk, best to build your own H2 image from scratch

thanks martin great help mate, yes i can confirm my box is the same as the one in the link you posted, recording isn't a major issue i just wanted something a little better than the f5s i was using, I've also heard of people flashing these box's like a jailbreak so to speak.

The box you have bought is X10 better than the F5 plug & play ~~~~~.........


just have to workout how to use it.....Not to sound rude most do this before parting with there cash.....Yes the horse goes in front of the cart
once you get to know how E2 systems work....Then you will have a smile on your face......You will get the bug...To see what the box can also do
