    V8 weak tuner

    I just purchased a V8 and set it up and all worked for about 5 mins then all of a sudden no signal popped up ..
    Some channels are still working but most only have 10% SNR .. I have tried it on another dish and still the same and I also have a Blade 7000 and that works fine with no signal issues on my dish .. I have restored to factory reset and still the same it doesn't even receive channel 5 .. I contacted the vender and they have sent me new software to put on but its not a .abs file so don't really know what to do with it.. My conclusion is that the tuner is fluffed .. any other takers on what the problem might be.. like I say was fine for about 5 mins then while watching just declared no signal..

      Send it back sounds like a dead box to me
      If you flash the firmware its voids all warranty for the return

      If you bought it from the well known auction site get a refund or a replacement

      The latest firmware is 21/10/2015.......http://skybox.cc/down.asp?id=18

      What firmware is on the box ?...Menu/System info

          It may have been a compressed file (.zip or .rar), or he may have sent you a new channel list (.dbs) rather than new firmware.

          Do you have the Blade connected at the same time, & to the same dish as the V8? Even when another box is connected to a different port on the same LNB, they can sometimes cause a "no signal" error on the V8 box on channels using vertical transponders. If you do have another box connected, remove the LNB lead from it & see if the channels return. If so, then you need a "no signal fix" from ebay.

              Had the same problem put that box in the bin and got a new one ... Shame I did try calling the guy from eBay to get a new one off him but he told me I would have to send it back ect

                  Open a dispute via ebay (item not as described) the seller gets charged for the return postage......Not you
