FTA HD channels say no signal

    Hi
Ive set up a new openbox at a relatives and done the usual things but the free to air HD channels (and non FTA HD channels) show no signal. Anything in sd works no problem. Used Ajs latest list, same one as I use on my box. Could it be a dish problem? the f connectors look a bit ropey but I thought if it can pick up all of the other channels the connection would be ok. Any thoughts?

Normally are, is it just fta or does bt sports clear in HD? there is also the possibility that a simple change of hdmi cable may be required.

Its very rare to have no hd channels at all not working on the box. I'm not aware of any channels changing of late, hope its the hdmi, nice and simple fix!

You don't say what box.....there are a few

What firmware do you have on the box.....does sound like a dish problem or tuner problem if it's a new box
can you take the box to yours & try it....If it works then you know the problem cables

                The dish

At the very least even with a dish slightly off you should pick up FTA HD, now as its a brand new box, I'm assuming it's a v8s. This being the case when you set the box up I'm hoping the sat feed went in first. If the box has been powered up and the sat feed added last there has been issues with hdmi ports blown this way.
As stated before I would change the hdmi cable and check your box settings.
if still no good I would contact the seller and exchange the box, if all above has no success

I have tried a different HDMI but it made no difference , brought the box to my house and everything works fine. All channels are on. So.. its the dish or the cable connection?? unless anyone has any other thoughts
It is an openbox V8s by the way

So is the settings on the other tv you used it on set to 1080i, if the box works fine at yours the hdmi port is fine.
Or maybe you'll need to check his cabling, but with all sd channels working your getting a signal.

checked (and replaced) f connectors but the problem remains, noticed its not just the HD channels giving the 'No Signal' message- its itv 2 bbc3 etc also sd bt channels. Going to get the dish alignment checked but I'm still convinced I'm missing something. signal strength on sports/movies is in the 80 to 90% ranges, snr is high 70s. on the HD channels snr is 10% and signal strength is 0

ill try it tomorrow. I thought the fta channels would work without any updated channel lists, but at this point I game for any alternatives.
cant understand how they would all work with my dish setup though
