How do I repair a V6 stuck on LOAD message

Does anyone know how best to recover one of the V6 boxes as there is no input for null modem/rs232
I notice someone on a popular auction site is offering to do this for ?6.99 so I assume it can be done

Are we able to do a repair directly via the USB or would i need to get some sort of rs232 to USB adapter/cable?

    Repair via RS232

A how to guide on how to fix a corrupt firmware image in OpenBox S9/S10/S11/S12 and Skybox S10 F3 F4 F5 F5S A3 etc. Even if it seems bricked. Box does not respond or displays On or rebooting constantly ? If your box does not respond, or no displays light there is a good chance the current firmware on the box is somehow

    Good luck

Might be less stressful just to get a new box

The V6 doesnt have a RS232 port though, thats why I wondered is there a method for this box

Oh dear, forgot about that, however, to redeem myself here is the answer, it might be better/cheaper to pay someone to do it for you

You need a jack plug to D-type adaptor for the V6.

I made up my own. I have attached the pin connections.

            Cheers Martin haha

I am not techy (or in fact bothered) enough to make up a cable so I think I will just send them away to the guy off the generic internet auction site

They are boxes I have aquired as salvage anyway and he doesn't charge if he is unable to repair them

            Thanks again

Impressive that, do you just remove one end from the null modem cable and join the wires to that thing ?

That's right, but you need to know which wires go to pins 2, 3 & 5 on the D-type serial plug, so you need something like a multimeter to buzz out the correct wires.

Hadron shows you how one should be soldered in post 5.
