    Openbox router problem

    As said in title.
I have turned the DHCP both on & off, DNS Alternate to 192.168.000.088 when off, but still have a flashing amber light & solid green light on my $ly router. I've changed the leads to it with proven leads & still the same.

    Any one know the issue???

    Many thanks guys.....

Have you tried a reboot of your router. If yes, then are you sure you're not connected, does the weather app work? or you could try and see if the xmltv EPG will update.

There is no point messing with your openbox network settings until your broadband is working ! however leave dhcp set to ON with your box.

Check you have connected a filter/ check you are connected direct to the main telephone box fitted by bt, some telephone extension leads are poorly made also if thats what you are using for any particular reason/check telephone line for a dialtone, after all thats done it might be time to phone sly as it looks your bb is either not connected properly or you have been cut off.

have you opened any ports in router or lowered the firewall?

It is a SR101 & a V8S. Every other item connects to it except the receiver. I've lowered the firewall and still have the amber light flashing & green light solid beside the ethernet plug.
I've reset the router, installed lateest software (again) to the V8S. It's driving me nuts

Can the router block the IP of the V8S?

Check in your router if your box is connected.
whats it showing on screen, no signal or scrambled?

just found a review for it, not the best about. http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/mo...eview-3420596/.

how many items are connected to router?

Have you tried the weather app & XMLTV epg as martin035 suggested?

There should be no amber lights or solid green lights on your router???

Any Sr101 or 102 models i have came across all have solid blue lights with a happy face:-)

                  chk post 3 mate

YOU NEED TO ENSURE YOU HAVE BROADBAND FIRST! then check if your cheap openbox connects to the outside world

The amber & green lights are on the ethernet connectors.
