    Skybox F5 problems

    Hi All,

Recently my Skybox F5 has been freezing on HD channels, BBC HD, ITV HD etc, and even rebooting. SD channels seem to be ok.

Because of this i have tried the no signal ebay fix, and i tried another vriable attenuator made by Konig, AND had the dish and quad LNB changed. I also reflashed the box with the same version of the abs file from skybox.cc, and used and older AJsList.

But the problem is still there!!!

Does anyone have any experience of this or know the fix?

You could try another power supply or place a fan blowing on the box.

Its pointless using attenuators with skys platform, they are mostly used with the catv platform to reduce signals if they are overloading so it just causes noise issues with sky signals and basically makes things worse,if it is a signal problem then its either line of sight/dish alignment/cabling or lnb issues.

I would try an official skybox on your dish to see how that performs, trying another psu is also a good shout as its an easy task to try or a test cable from the dish but it does sound like a box/tuner issue if you have a new dish and quad unfortunately:-(
