its a strange one a box (sky hd) what should really of been evolution of electrical equipment like everthing else.. but sky being greedy decided to make that something to charge extra for, In turn it bit them on the arse as they couldn't/cant switch it all of with folk still on the old boxes from years ago.

They make a fortune for charging for hd can't see them giving up that to take a few of us out. It's not like when everyone had a euro vox about ten years ago you need a bit of technical knowledge and not a lot of people know how to do it

A date has been set actually 28/9/2016 me mates granny told his mate that this will happen because if you look in your local A'2'Z
the road around the corner from the corner shop which sells satalitte balloons will be closing down next month. Also the new range of cattle prods will have better LNB's so no need for farmers anymore who want sly SD instead of HD as most cattle now have contact lenzes. Plus the remaining sheep are brave now and no longer scared of wolfs selling Open/sly boxes to the gullible penguins who think there top of the range STB's . So me mates right the end is niegh ..........

i read they did it a couple of years back , it may be my eyes . but SD looks to have dropped resolution even more this last week
