Openbox V5S issues

Alright,

Box has been working awesome for the last couple of years. Each night before bed I switch the box off at the wall and when I want to use the box again switch it back on with no issues. Last week I switched the box on and it didn't boot first time.. removing the power cable / reinstering worked. Ended of last week the box wouldnt power on at all. Removed all the cables plugged the power in and could get it to power / go through the options (ofcourse I couldn't see it) Plugged everything back in and sometimes it would boot and run fine othertimes not.


Any ideas ? Could it be the power cable causing issues ? I can plug the cable in and get a dim red light sometimes it fully loads and runs like a dream most the time it doesnt. Took it apart and can't see any blown caps.

I thought that was the case boots up occasionaly and runs ordered a new one should be here before Wednesday so fingers crossed it works.

SHould you really power them off at the wall each night ? or leave them running

If it was up to me I would never plug it in to much of a risk

Up to you if you switch it off or just put it in standby.........

Hahah to be honest ive never had any issues with it are they that bad ? Wouldn't know what to swap it for I know my parents have one of the Solo boxes with a 1TB drive which seems to run well apart from the occasional lets mess up the screen positioning.

SO bit of an update. New power cable arrived and wasn't working at all. Left it alone and the box booted. Managed to do a firmeware update and it seems to have been working fine so not sure to be honest. Hoping it keeps going if not I need a new box. Any recommendations ?
