ZGEMMA H.2S v Openbox vs8

Hi peeps i've had the openbox V8s a week quite like it i was thinking of getting the ZGEMMA H.2S for twin tuner until i read on your forum the SD picture on the ZGEMMA was worse than the openbox anyone else seen both boxes in action to compare

I am only a casual user not an expert, but I can say that I have had both and could not really see any difference. But z-gemma is quite a bit more difficult to set up if you buy a bare box but with a bit of searching you will soon find help and save your self some dosh. Very smooth box with record facility - great!

I've got both boxes and there's no difference in picture between the two.

Does the Zgemma box need to be flashed regularly and also do the channels need to be updated constantly just like the openbox/skybox through usb or is it automatic?

No, if you use a supported firmware ie Openatv then once you've flashed the image on the zgemma, all other updates are done over the air and don't require reflashing

It's automatic via a program (plugin) added to the Zgemma most use either Autobouquetmaker or AutobouquetsE2 these plugins are available from the Zgemma's plugin menu on the remote.

If you're talking about BT channels ie BT sports 1 HD or AMC HD then unfortunately these channels have been hardware paired (Encryption changed) and are no longer available.

you'll only get FTA hd, which ones have you lost as mines were lost a long time ago
