    Missing Channels or No Signal

    Hi All

Looking for a little guidance on why most of the movie challes and even BBC channels seem to have stopped working on my V8S.
All was fine last night but today it seems to have gone all to pot
So I assume i need to update the channel list which i thought i had done just a few days ago.
Im still getting sports so i assume my ****** ***** is still working.
I went to cwaites to get the latest list but the page doesnt seem to be working ....
    Looking for some advice please.

    Thank You

m8, dont mention the S word on here its not allowed, try doin another channel update, and see wot that does,
    try a single satellite search.

      Ooops sorry .....

I think i may have identified the problem though.
If i have a direct feed to the V8S everything is fine.....
I tried to introduce a triax splitter so i could have a feed for freesat to the tv and still have a feed to the V8S.
But i loose some channels on the V8S if it connects to the splitter.
It says No Signal on some channels including the movies and BBC HD and lots of other channels like the movie channels ... strangely though the sly sports channels are still working fine. I dont understand why i would only loose some channels.
I assume the splitter is causing the issue so would these things for the V8S No Signal fix work for me ?
Why would putting it through a splitter kill only some channels ... the signal strength and quality is fine through the splitter on the channels that still working. Its like 90% strength and 80-95% quality so it cant be weakening the signal too much ?
      Thank You

So your tv has a sat tuner built in it ? or a separate free sat box

also splitter's are not very reliable, but as P@D has said, does your tv have a sat tuner built into it?..

My tv has freesat built in .... i only have one spare satallite cable so i thought i could split it and have one going to the freesat tv which is still working fine with full signal strength.
The triax splitter has 1 input and 4 outputs .... one i have going to the tv and the other to the V8S but the V8S doesnt seem to like it and i loose the channels.
If i take the V8S to another room with a satallite feed it works fine again so I'll assume its not liking the signal from the splitter for some reason.
I take the box upstairs depending what im watching so i just disconnect it and away i go ..... thought the splitter would have given me the solution to have freesat and V8S from the single feed but doesnt seem to be working out that way.

When you want to split signal from satellite dish you buy a bigger lnb ie single, double, quad, or octo lnb. You don't use splitters.

I have an octo lnb already ... i have 3 feeds into my living room for Sky ( twin ) and a single feed for the V8S that i thought i could split for the tv freesat and the V8S hence the splitter.
The other 5 feeds go to the bedrooms for other boxes and sky multiroom and so i can take the V8S upstairs if shes watching something else so there arent any feeds left.
I suppose i'll just do away with the freesat as it isnt really needed and remove the splitter if theres no way around it.

Try the feed to the freesat via the loop connection on the back of the V8s.....might work might not...never had the box
are you use the official s*y box ?....If not use a feed from that
