movies not showing full screen

I have an openbox v8 and when I watch movies I get a cropped screen black bars top and bottom. Can someone please advise how to get full screen.

settings -- display-- set to 16.9 if set to 16.9 then it could be the TV that needs changing

Or if Remember right from the old F3 days press v.format button.....not sure if you have one on your remote

I've never owned the v8s
