A guy at work has just asked me to ask a quick question on here,he has a f3 box but the volume won't work on his remote unless you go up close to it,he bought a new remote and tried different batteries in it aswel but still the same,has anybody ever come across this problem before or know how to fix it? Would reflashing fix it or would he be safer buying a new box?

Do all the other buttons on the remote work OK at a distance?
It's odd that it's only when operating the volume buttons, that they need to be close up to the box. I've heard of faulty IR receivers in boxes, but that would affect all of the functions on the remote.
Why does he need to use the volume button on the F3 anyway? Why not just use the volume button on the TV remote? I leave the volume set to max on my box. -
