Hi guys,
I'm new to the website but have been running these boxes for years. I have several Openboxe's running for family members and know how to update the firmware and load the latest channel lists. I'm an electrical engineer so I would like to think I'm not complete idiot. I was wondering if anyone could possibly point me in the right direction before I give up and buy a new box. Here's my issue:
I have a Skybox F5S set up for one of my relatives. It has always worked fine with the "magic configuration" and receives all the channels.
All of a sudden the box has decided to scramble all of the channels accept all the freeview and SKY1.
I have downloaded the latest firmware and channel lists and updated the box but still no joy.
I have also brought the "magic configuration" onto my personal Openbox and that works fine. So it seems to be a problem with the unit.
I have also tried plugging in the Skybox in my home with the same "magic configuration" and it still doesn't work. (Accept SKY1) so that eliminates a problem with the dish or internet connection.
I know these boxes can go after a while but it seems weird that it is allowing one channel to work and scrambling the rest. Any ideas before my relative has to put there hand in their pocket ?
