I have several channels that say no signal I think I need to update the channels but I dont know how, is it a file I download or do I do it on the box?

I just use the update by network on the V8's. I just use the latest channel list from here and never have any issues. If you have a V8 then click menu and tab across until you see update by network, channel list is in there somewhere.
