    5% signal

    ok i know this has been asked mostly but this is so strange my box use to work for so many years without problem checked everything on my end no problem (cable,firmware,ch list all updated and lastly the one that can do the magic works..this is only happen when i tried to connect my box to my friend house and it didn't work with him as well the reason why is because he had a problem like this..but now even mine don't work in his place or mine at all..my snr signal is only 5% all channels and my friends box is the same..anyone had experience something strange like this?

        If your box stopped working after trying it on your friends dish, (and your friends box also has the same problem) then perhaps there's a problem with his LNB that has broken both boxes. There's a current limiting polyfuse on the circuit board in series with the LNB supply. They are supposed to reset themselves in the case of high current or a short circuit, but they do fail quite often. I have had to replace a few over the years.

        In the old S9, S10, S11 boxes they were labeled F1 & looked like the one in the attatched photo. It should be situated near the tuner.

        If you have a multimeter you can test the fuse (while the box is UNPOWERED) on the resistance (Ohms) range. It should read around 0.5 Ohms.
