Yes you will, just save your channel list with the dump feature and your cccam settings onto a usb stick, then load the new firmware and put the other stuff back on after.

              Hello all,

Can anyone comment for this box if the epg works for uk sky tv for 7 days, or is it just now and next?

              Thanks and regards

                  Thanks Hooley,

Is there anything else on the market of a similar price that will record externally, and has a more full EPG? Not worried about all the cam stuff, just view and record Sly uk, preferably with hd support as well?

I've read elsewhere that it's on their to do list, if it happens that's another thing. Most of these closed source boxes only have now and next, spiderbox, protek etc... If you want 7 day epg you will have to go down the dreambox, vu duo route.

I'd say your best bet is a dm800 clone. They are a bit dearer but they will do everything your looking for

i have been using dm800 hd pvr clone for almost a year and i have set up a few openbox for my friends and frankly speaking openbox is nowhere near dm800.

Thanks wfy. Is there any recommendation as to where to get these, apart from googling dm800 clone? These appear to be a lot more expemsive than openbox, and I would really like to keep the costs down.

Ukdreamboxshop seems to have a good reputation from people on
                                here,satfooldeals also. You could
purchase directly from china but if something goes wrong you will have the expense of sending it back. Some people will probably come on now and say they never have a problem. There are plenty of threads about where to purchase a dm800, just have a search.
I know you want to keep costs down but if you want the 7 day epg and a lot more features you should spend the bit extra and get the dm800. This is going way off thread, have a search as I said, loads of info on this site
