Hi all
If I get an openbox s11 HD DM Satellite box PVR and plug it in to the sky satellite will it start getting channels all on its own or do I have to go through a process to get channels to show up on this first?

Thanks for your help cause I know nothing about the openbox other than I heard its supposed to be good I am in the uk by the way

do a scan if it doesn show up...
Depends on ur reciever.
if it doent have 28.5 satellite in its list then u wont get.
else u can scan for channels

i have a dm500v8 but the tuner has packed in so phoned to try and get a replacment box and the guy mentioned the openbox s10 sat receiver as he dont do the dm500 anymore,
are the s10's any good and do they run off a server like the 500's as i aint got a clue on these things??

The openbox s10 will act as a client box and you can enter lines.
It will drive a dish using diseqc or USALS. It is not as versatile as the the dm and the EPG is pretty poor as (now & next) but overall a good client box for the price. I dont think the S10 has a scart.

whats the best box to get then that works the same way as the dm500 coz at the min im limited to what i can watch i.e i have 1 movie and 1 sports channel plus some low priced packaged virmin stuff .

Bought a cheap second hand S9 recently. My first step into Sat TV. I was surprised how easy it was to set up. Only drawback is the EPG. Still for the price, the Openboxes are great value.
