can not get hard drive to initialization on dreambox with dream eliite image any ideas any help would be great thanks guys also getting mkfs failed when i try

As you got no re-plies i will give you a couple of pointers ,as i aint no expert .
is the hdd formatted , (ext3 format i think)
is the hdd mounted (go to mount manager to check)
failing that , for some reason various images have various results in hdd setup , may be worth trying another image , although i always believed DE was one of the easier for hdd setup

ok got it sorted what i did was mount the drive to /media/hdd and then i let the machine format it the machine will have to restart after the mount and format and after try can you time shift i you can we are nearly there ftp the box and go to media and open hdd inside this folder there was a folder called movie open this and created a new folder /hdd/movie and save this worked for me hope it helps oh after i tried to record something and it worked did not initialization the hard drive left it aloneComment
