I think to start with i will just try the pc sat card as it seems alot less costly and also alot less time needed. MEZ, how much is the techni sat skystar2?

I saw a 2nd hand SS2 going for ?25 the other day on another site.

And as for software, since you're just starting out I think you'd find RitzDVB pretty easy to master.

Thanks guys, iv spotted a ss2 on e bay auction brand new in the box for ?30. If i was to buy this and then download ritzdvb, would i be able to instantly recieve channels? Also how many would i be able to get?

Ive ss2, tried loads of watching programs (progdvb, altdvb, winclip, dvbdream) every one has pros and cons. You can get HD chanels as well, thou on my 17" monitor is not so many difference. If you have LCD tv 32" or higher you'll enjoy that

I got that sat card too was wondering if there are any paytv you can get from the sky astra sat for free, like emulator. Not quit sure how they work?
