    What Dreambox are people using

    Hi,

I've just registered on this forum and have been reading a lot about the derambox and other satellite box which was very useful.

My question is that if I were to buy a Dreambox to view satellite channels, which model should I go for - i.e. DM500 etc.

    Thanks

          I own a 500s and also a 800hd

If you are wanting to view HD conten and record on the receiver without using a network mount then the 800HD is the answer if you are just after basic viewing then the 500s is the route to go.

Personally i prefer the 800 as it is much more advanced. For me i didnt find it harder than a 500 to set up but you need to make sure you have the right image for your sim.

If you go with a 800 make sure it has the latest rev M 801A tuner, as older tuners will cause glitching on HD channels.

          Hope this is of help.

            Newbie question

So I am doing a bit of research and it looks like the 800HD is the closest to replicating a SKYHD Box. From what I can see however there is no dual tuner facilities, am I correct? Does anyone have any plans for recording a channel and watching another?

            Thanks

as long as the channels are on the same transponder
you can record 1 and watch another

              or

you can record 2 different channels at the same time
              and watch another

all channels MUST be on the same transponder
